ARTIST STATEMENT

My work explores the transformation of observed landscapes into increasingly abstract experiences of light, movement, and memory.

Everything begins with sustained observation—looking for shapes, rhythms, geometric relationships, and moments that often remain unnoticed. Through a process of experimentation—combining, removing, and transforming—I allow the descriptive image to gradually give way to atmosphere, movement, and emotion.

I am not interested in abstraction for its own sake. My work is driven by a continuing question: How far can a photograph move away from description while remaining emotionally true to what was seen and felt?

Literal reality is where my work begins. Emotional reality is where I am trying to arrive.
